Japanese Sandwich Griddle: Griddled Prosciutto, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella

Japanese Sandwich Griddle: Griddled Prosciutto, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella
Serves 1

INGREDIENTS

2 slices OMM Whole Wheat bread 
2 oz fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced  
3 slices prosciutto (about ¾ oz.) 
2 slices tomato 
1 fresh basil leaf  
1 tsp. Extra virgin olive oil 

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. On a slice of bread, layer first half of the cheese then the prosciutto, tomato, the basil, and then remaining mozzarella. Top with the remaining slice of bread and then brush the outside of the bread with the olive oil.

2. Transfer the sandwich to the griddle, secure, and set over medium heat. Cook, flipping after 2 minutes, until the bread is browned and the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Slice and serve.
